Veritas Europaea is a fully independent publication. It is 100% owned and operated by Jan Bostl.
There are no parent companies, hidden investors, or corporate boards dictating our editorial direction. This solo-ownership structure ensures that the publication remains agile and uncompromisingly dedicated to its core mission: delivering slow, highly contextualized European and global journalism.
How We Are Funded
Veritas Europaea relies on a hybrid funding model designed to keep our independent journalism sustainable while keeping it accessible:
- Reader Subscriptions: Our primary goal is to be entirely reader-supported. Our €2/month membership directly funds the deep research, cross-referencing, and time required to produce high-context, long-form analysis.
- Programmatic Advertising: To help cover web hosting, technical maintenance, and operational costs while we grow our subscriber community, we display automated advertisements via Google AdSense.
Our Editorial Wall
While we display automated advertisements, we maintain a strict wall between our funding and our editorial choices:
- No Contact with Advertisers: The ads on our site are automated by Google’s algorithms. We do not negotiate private ad deals, meaning no corporation, brand, or sponsor can influence what we write.
- No Corporate Sponsorships: We do not accept private grants, native advertising, or sponsored articles from corporations or private interest groups.
- No Government Funding: We do not accept financial support from any local, national, or European government entities or political parties.
